Product Review -- Too Faced White Peach Eye Shadow Palette

For years, peach has been one of my very favorite shades for makeup.

Lipstick, eyeshadow, blush, highlighter... it doesn't matter. As long as it's peach, I'm probably going to like it.

So it's no wonder that I've been a pretty big fan of Too Faced's  peach themed makeup collection -- the Sweet Peach and Just Peachy Mattes Palettes are both favorites of mine.

Which is why I was excited to hear about the White Peach Eye Shadow Palette, which offers a slightly lighter take on the whole peach theme.

The palette comes in packaging that's very similar to the Just Peachy Mattes -- it's a hard plastic compact with gold tone trim and an adorable peach-shaped clasp. The lid has a soft pink and gold design, and there's a generous sized mirror inside. The palette stays open on its own too, so it can work well for doing your makeup on the go.

Like the other shadow palettes in the line, all of the shadows have a sweet peach candy-like scent.

The palette contains 12 eyeshadows: Peach Cream, matte cream; Peach Suede, a matte dusty rose; Peaches & Dreams, golden peach pearl; Creme de la Peach, soft coral with gold sparkle; Peach Sorbet, a matte creamy peach; Glistening Peach, rose gold with sparkle; Peach Smoothie, a matte rose taupe; Sweet Fig, a matte smoky mauve; Peach Ice, a white shimmer with gold sparkle; Fuzzy, a matte creamy gray; On the Grill, a matte charcoal grey; and Peach Passion, a deep orchid with blue and purple sparkle.

Right off the bat, I have to say that I love nearly all of the shades in the palette. They provide a really soft, pretty peach and rose look with a mix of matte, shimmer, and glitter shades. These really are my favorite shades of shadow to wear, so it's no surprise that I'm (mostly) into the color selection.

In terms of formula, they all work really nicely. The mattes are soft and creamy, while the shimmer and sparkle shades are smooth and well-pigmented -- Peach Ice is a little chunky, but it still blends out very nicely. Sweet Fig is a matte that's a little sheer, but can be built up pretty easily.

I will say that several of the shadows tend to kick up a lot of product when you work your brush into them, but that's not really a big deal if you ask me.

All that said, there's something about this palette that's a little bit lacking.

I find that most of the shadows are lighter shades, so there's not much contrast between them. On the Grill and Peach Passion are both deeper tones, but they're somewhat dramatic so they don't necessarily work for every look. I feel like the palette is lacking a deeper brown or mid-tone gray for the outer corner or crease. A cranberry/berry/burgundy/wine shade would actually be nice too -- I often find myself using Bitten by Makeup Geek to deepen up the crease or outer corner when I use this palette.

As such, this doesn't really feel like a standalone palette to me. I feel like most people will need to pull in other shadows to do complete looks with it, which isn't a deal breaker for me necessarily, but it might be for others who want a single palette that has everything they need.

With $45 price tag, it isn't exactly cheap either.

Still, if you're like me and love peachy, rosy eye shadow tones, it might be worth checking the palette out in person to see if you like it.

You can purchase the palette on the Too Faced website or at Sephora.

Have you tried the Too Faced White Peach Eye Shadow Palette? Are you a fan?
