Product Review -- Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator

Like so many makeup junkies, I love a good highlighter.

I love them so much that I have way more than any one person needs.

And I still want more -- I can't help it.

I'd tried quite a few of Laura Geller's highlighters over the years and I've liked nearly all of them, so I've had my eye on the Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminators for a while now.

Now, I'm always a little leery of baked products because I find that they tend to be pretty hard and don't offer up much pigmentation -- but I'd seen so many good reviews about the Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminators that I decided to give them a try.

And I'm glad that I did.

I purchased two of the illuminators: one in the shade Charming Pink, a soft, pale pink, and another in the shade Diamond Dust, a duo-chrome pearlescent pink that flashes hot pink and purple.

The illuminators come in round plastic compacts with a clear lid that allows you to see the shade inside. Each contains 4.5 grams of product, and the highlighters are poured in a cool swirled design as their name implies.

The formula for these highlighters is really nice -- there's no chunky glitter or obvious shimmer, but they add the most beautiful glow to the skin. They blend in really easily for a seamless look, but they're buildable so you can get a more intense look if that's what you're after.

Charming Pink is a more subtle and works well as an everyday highlight. Diamond Dust is one of those more unusual shades, so it really tends to stand out when it catches the light -- it's absolutely lovely, but won't necessarily coordinate with every blush or eye shadow look.

The illuminators retail for $26 each, and you can purchase them on the Laura Geller website, QVC, and at Ulta.

(Note that at some of the sites, Diamond Dust is listed separately from the other illuminators, so you may to look around to find it.)

I'm such a fan of these highlighters that I actually ordered some more -- QVC has a really good deal on a set of 4 of the full-size illuminators (in the shades Fairy Dust, Peach Glow, Ballerina, and Gilded Honey) for under $50 -- and I'm really excited to get them.

Have you tried the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminators? Which shade is your favorite?
