Product 411: Maybelline Color Sensational Inti-Matte Nudes Lipsticks

I am a big fan of the Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipsticks.

Hands down, they are one of the most comfortable matte lipsticks I've ever worn and they're pretty budget-friendly so it's a win across the board.

I am also a pretty big fan of nude lipsticks, particularly since the term "nude" has gotten much broader over the past few years.

It used to be that nude lipstick meant ultra pale, concealer-like shades that definitely don't work for all skin tones. Fortunately, makeup brands have come to realize that "nude" doesn't mean the same thing for every person so it's a good idea to have a wider range of shades.

Personally, I don't stick to shades that are just "nude" for my particular skin tone -- I like wearing the different tones, even if they're a little dark, because they all tend to be fairly natural looking.

All that said, I was really excited to hear that Maybelline was coming out with a line of nude matte lipsticks, appropriately named the Inti-Matte Nudes, and couldn't resist picking up a few shades.

This isn't a full-fledged review because I've already reviewed the Creamy Matte formula and the Inti-Matte Nudes are the same awesome quality as the original mattes from Maybelline.

But if you're interested in picking up some shades from the Inti-Matte Nudes, I thought some swatches and opinions might come in handy.

Maybelline Inti-Matte Nudes Lipsticks

I purchased five shades in the line: 535 Purely Nude, a pale pink beige; 545 Beige Babe, a peachy pink nude; 550 Honey Pink, a light coral; 560 Raw Chocolate, a mid-tone brown nude; and 575 Brown Blush, a purple-y brown.

While I like all of the shades that I purchased, Honey Pink is probably my least favorite. It's a little brighter than I was hoping, but perhaps I'll like it better now in the spring and summer.

Purely Nude teeters right on the edge of being one of those concealer-y nude shades, though it has just a hint of pink to make it more wearable. I typically don't wear it by itself, though -- I usually use it to lighten other shades of lipsticks or dab it in the center of my lips when I'm wearing deeper nudes to make my lips look a little fuller.

I do enjoy Beige Babe quite a bit, though it leans a tiny bit too warm for my tastes. Usually, I top it with a pink gloss to tone down some of those peachy tones.

I don't wear a lot of brown lipsticks because they can look a little strange on my fair skin. However, Raw Chocolate is actually quite nice because it's more of a mid-tone brown so it doesn't look too harsh. It also has some pink undertones, which I think make it more wearable.

But my absolute favorite of the shades is definitely Brown Blush. I'm always drawn to purple lipsticks, though I do find most of them difficult to wear with my pale skin because they're too just bright. Brown Blush has brown undertones which help tone down the overall shade of the lipstick. I've gotten so much more wear of this shade that I ever thought I would.

From l. to r.: Purely Nude, Beige Babe, Honey Pink, Raw Chocolate, Brown Blush
I am interested in a few other shades in the line, such as Peach Buff, so I plan to pick those up at some point when I find Maybelline on sale.

If you're a fan of matte nude lipsticks, I definitely recommend checking out the shades in this line.

Have you tried the Maybelline Color Sensational Inti-Matte Nudes Lipsticks? Which shades are your favorites?
