Product Review -- IT Cosmetics Superhero Eye Transforming Anti-Aging Super Palette

I've always had really good luck with the IT Cosmetics products that I've tried.

Their Your Skin But Better CC Cream is one of my favorite foundation type products on the market, few concealers offer better coverage than their Bye Bye Under Eye, and their Airbush Silk Illuminizer provides the most amazing glow ever.

So it's safe to say that I think IT Cosmetics hits a lot of homeruns.

I've been really happy with all of their shadow palettes that I've tried too, which is why I was intrigued when I saw the Superhero Eye Transforming Anti-Aging Super Palette. I was particularly interested because unlike their most recent palettes, which contained almost entirely matte shades, this palette offers a mix of shimmery and matte shadows.

The palette features black cardboard packaging, but instead of the usual rectangular compact, the top and bottom edges are curved. There is a small mirror on the inside that's probably only useful for doing quick touch-ups, not a full face of makeup.

Inside, there are 12 eye shadows, which are divided up into four categories: Eye Foundation Shadows, Superhero Nudes, Superhero Neutrals, and Superhero Liners.

The eye foundation shades are mean to be all-over base colors that color correct, neutralize, and smooth the lids. The nudes shadows are meant for a no-makeup look. The neutrals are meant to make your eyes pop and worn alone or as crease shades. The liners are meant to be used wet or dry as liners or as crease shades.

IT Cosmetics also provides an instruction pamphlet that explains how to create looks using the shadows.

The eye foundation shades are Confidence, a matte beige, Pow!, a matte cream, and Magical, a shimmery peach. The nude shades are Limitless, a shimmery light taupe, Powerful, a shimmery pink champagne, and Aura, a shimmery golden brown. The neutral shades are Unstoppable, a shimmery gold, Superstar, a shimmery purplish taupe, and Fearless, a shimmery copper. The liner shades are Bold, a matte blue gray, Daring, a matte brown, and Superhero, a matte black.

All of the shadows in the palette are up to the usual IT Cosmetics standards. They're smooth, creamy, and nicely pigmented. The palette is $42, and I think that's a good deal for 12 really nice shadows.

However, I wouldn't call this palette a must-have, though.

None of the shades are particularly unique, and if you have a few natural or neutral palettes in your collection, you probably have plenty of dupes.

Now, if you're in the market for a natural shadow palette or want to try an IT Cosmetics palette, I don't think you'll regret purchasing it at all. I just don't think it's a necessity for everyone.
