Product Review -- Wet n Wild Megalow Contouring Palettes and Illuminating Palette

If you're new to contouring or don't do it on a daily basis, it doesn't make much sense to spend big bucks on a contouring palette.

Well, at least in my mind.

Personally, I'm a haphazard contour-er at best, so I'm always on the hunt for budget-friendly contour products.

That's why I decided to finally pick up the Wet n Wild Megaglow Contouring Palettes when I was at Walgreen's recently.

And the Megaglow Illuminating Palette, because while I may not contour everyday, I would bathe in gorgeous highlighters if I could.

All of the palettes come in large plastic compacts with clear lids that allow you to see the product inside. They are very generously sized -- the Contouring Palettes contain 12.5 grams of product, while the Illuminating Palette contains 11.5 grams.

The Contouring Palettes come in two shades: Dulce De Leche, which is geared more toward lighter skin tones, and Caramel Toffee, which works better for medium and darker skin tones.

Each palette contains two matte shades, a highlighting powder and a contouring powder. Dulche De Leche features a pink beige highlight and a light brown contour shade with slight warm undertones. Caramel Toffee features a yellow highlight and a darker brown contour shade with slight warm undertones.

The powders have a nice smooth texture, though they're slightly powdery. They blend very easily into the skin, and are nicely pigmented.

For my fair, slightly cool skin, Dulce De Leche is definitely the better option. I use the highlight shade to set my under eye concealer, and though the contour shade has slight warm undertones, it's light enough that it works with my skin tone.

The highlight shade in Caramel Toffee is too yellow to work with my skin tone, and the contour shade is way too dark and warm too. I've used them as eye shadows, though, and they work pretty well that way.

The Illuminating Palette comes in one shade, Catwalk Pink, which is actually four shimmery shades in one compact. There is a light champagne, a light pink, a mid-tone pink, and bronze-y gold.

You can run your brush through all the shades, but I usually only do the lighter half if I'm using it strictly as a highlighter or through the darker shades if I'm using it as a blush topper.

The palette definitely provides plenty of glow, but it has a major sparkle so if you're not a fan of sparkly highlighters, it's probably not for you.

I like both the Contouring Palettes and Illuminating Palettes, and because they're only $4.99 each, I definitely recommend giving them a try.

You can find these palettes on the Wet n Wild website or anywhere that you purchase Wet n Wild products.

Have you tried the Wet n Wild Megalow Contouring Palettes and Illuminating Palette? Are you a fan?
