There are few things that I love as much as a good highlight.
(Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration ... because I'm pretty sure I love a good eye shadow palette, foundation, blush, lipstick, etc., just as much)
And I've got an entire drawer full of them to prove it.
But I don't have many palettes that are devoted exclusively to highlighters.
So I was pretty excited to try the NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette.
The kit comes in a black plastic packaging, and contains seven shimmery highlighter shades, four of which are 0.07 oz each and three of which are .14 oz.

The 0.07 oz shades are gold with gold pearl; cool toned light pink; a cool lavender; and a golden pink. The .14 oz shades are a light gold with peach undertones; a bronze with gold pearl; and a pale champagne.
While all of the highlighters have a shimmery finish, they don't have chunky glittery, so they have a nice, smooth consistency that applies and blends into the skin easily. Their shimmer also provides a really pretty glow that you can blend out for a more subtle look or build up for more intensity.

Of course, some shades are more wearable than others depending on your skin tone.
For example, with my super fair skin, the gold with gold pearl is a little too yellow and the bronze with gold pearl is a little too dark to look like a natural highlight -- but I bet they would be beautiful on darker skin tones.
On the other hand, the lavender shade might look a little ashy on darker skin tones, while it's probably my very favorite highlighter in the palette.

The palette retails for $19, and I think it's a pretty great deal for 7 highlighters. It's really convenient to have them all one place too, especially for traveling.
If highlighter is a vital point in your makeup routine, I definitely recommend giving this palette a look.
Have you tried the NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette? Which shades are your favorite?
