When you have dry-ish skin, it can be pretty difficult to find a face powder.
That's because they tend to cling to dry patches and become seriously cake-y even if you apply the lightest layer possible.
Sometimes, though, I need a little powder -- whether it's because I want a little extra coverage or I want to make sure that my makeup lasts all day or I don't like the finish of my foundation -- and I need to have a product in my makeup drawer that I can count on.
As a brand, It Cosmetics is dedicated to creating products that provide anti-aging benefits so it stands to reason that their powder products would be a good match for dry skin. I love their Bye Bye Pores Powder in the summer when I want a matte look (and it does really make your pores disappear!), and their Celebration Powder Foundation and Celebration Illumination Foundation are nice as well, but they're a little heavy if you just want a powder to set a foundation.
That's why I was excited to see their new CC+ Airbrush Perfecting Powder.
While it offers more coverage than a basic translucent powder, it isn't a powder foundation so it's ideal for setting everything from a BB cream to a full coverage foundation.
And it's talc-free and contains SPF 50, hydrolyzed silk, hydrolyzed collagen, niacin, peptides, and other anti-aging ingredients, like the rest of It Cosmetic's products, as well as optical blurring particles to help hide imperfections, so what's not to like?
The powder comes in a silver plastic compact with 9.5 grams of product and a standard size mirror inside for touch-ups. It also features separate compartments for the powder and the puff that's included.

The formula is lightweight and extremely smooth --I wouldn't exactly call it creamy, but it blends into the skin easily without settling in fine lines or pores. It Cosmetics calls it hydrating, but I wouldn't go that far either (in all honesty, I've never found a powder that I would call hydrating so...). It definitely plays nice with dry skin, though -- but it isn't glow-y or greasy either, so I think it would do well on most skin types, except maybe extremely oily skin.
Now, optical blurring particles sound like a lot of marketing hype to me, but I will say that this powder does give the skin a very smooth, even appearance. It works extremely well over foundation, BB cream, and tinted moisturizer because it provides a little additional coverage to help hide imperfections but it isn't so heavy that it gives you cake-face.
I don't use it everyday, but on occasions when I want a really flawless look, this is my new best friend.
I purchased the powder in the lightest shade, Fair, and I find that it's a pretty good match for my pale skin.

I really enjoy this powder, and recommend it if you're the market for a product that can set your foundation while adding just a bit more coverage.
Have you tried the It Cosmetics CC+ Airbrush Perfecting Powder? Are you a fan? What's your favorite setting powder these days?
