This spring, it seems like Tarte has come out with a million palettes -- and I just may have bought all of them.
I'm not sure.
I'm actually kind of afraid to see if I missed any because I'll inevitably wind up buying them if I did.
I have a problem.
The Poppy Picnic Amazonian Clay Eye & Cheek Palette was kind of a no-brainer for me because the packaging is so pretty, the shades included are right up my alley, and the compact size makes it ideal for travel.
I also bought it during the Sephora VIB sale, so the 15% off didn't hurt either.
The palette comes in a fairly slim metal compact with vibrant hot pink flowers on the cover. There is a decent sized mirror on the inside, so you could use it to do your makeup on the road.
It's similar in size and layout to the palette in the Be Your Tarteist TSV from QVC back in February, though the colors are all different.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Glisten |
From l. to r.: Summer Breeze, Sweet Tea, Ice Cream Cone, Barefoot in the Grass, Peach Poppy, Picnic Basket |
The blush, Glisten, is shimmery peachy pink that's part of the permanent line of Amazonian Clay Blushes.
The shadows include: Summer Breeze, a matte beige; Sweet Tea, a matte mid-tone brown; Ice Cream Cone, a matte black brown; Barefoot in the Grass, a matte light peach; Peach Poppy, a matte peachy pink; and Picnic Basket, a matte warm chocolate brown.
I already owned Glisten, and it's one of my favorite everyday blushes -- though it's definitely not the most unique color. I feel like every brand has a peachy pink shade like that.
All of the shadows in the palette are matte, and I've got to be honest -- I usually like to work in a little shimmer somewhere in my eye look -- so I didn't expect to like this palette quite so much.
But it's wound up being one of my favorites lately. The shadows are pretty nice, with a smooth, creamy texture that makes them easy to apply and blend. The shades are all pretty basic and natural, but Peach Poppy is so gorgeous and perfect for spring and summer that it almost makes the entire palette.
That said, I don't think this one is a must-have. The products are all pretty nice, but the shades are pretty dupeable -- you probably already have similar colors in collection.
However, if you're looking for a nice travel palette that has all the color products you need to do your entire face, this one is definitely a winner.
The palette is $38 and is available at Sephora, Ulta, and Tarte's website.
What do you think of the Tarte Poppy Picnic Amazonian Clay Eye & Cheek Palette? What's been your favorite palette lately?
