I'm a big fan of the NYX Butter Glosses ever since I tried them last year.
So when I saw that they were adding lipsticks (and balms) to the line, I knew that I had to give them a try.
In general, I much prefer lipsticks that have a creamy, moisturizing feel to long-wearing lipsticks that tend to feel dry. I'd rather have to reapply more often than have to deal with dry, cracked lips.
The NYX Butter Lipsticks are supposed to be a lightweight formula that melts into the lips while still delivering vivid color -- and honestly, I feel like they absolutely live up to those claims.
I purchased two of the 22 shades that are available: Pops, which is kind of a mauve-y my-lips-but-better shade, and Candy Buttons, which is bright peachy pink.
I love both colors -- Pops is one of those everyday shades that you can wear with pretty much any eye shadow and blush colors, while Candy Buttons has been a lovely brightening shade for summer.

Because they're so lightweight, I don't even need a lipliner with the Butter Lipsticks, which I appreciate.
As far as wear time goes, I can usually go about four hours without touching up if I'm not eating or drinking. I think that's pretty good for a more moisturizing lipstick.
I definitely want to pick up a few more of these lipsticks -- the shade range is so wide that there are tons of options, from natural nude shades to bold, vivid reds.
I paid about $6 for these lipsticks at Ulta, though I think they were on sale BOGO 1/2 off so they were an even better deal.
If you like moisturizing lipsticks, I definitely recommend giving these a try.
Have you tried the NYX Butter Lipsticks? Which shades are your favorite?
I´ll definitely watch out for these! So far I only have one of those black NYX lippies with the clear bottom and it´d one of my favourite shades.
ReplyDeleteI love those black lippies as well. I think I like these better, though -- they feel a little creamier on the lips and tend to last longer, I think. You should definitely keep an eye out. :)
