Over the past year, I've become a serious fan of IT Cosmetics.
Last month, I reviewed the fabulous the IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Vol. 1 Matte Luxe Transforming Eyeshadow Palette and after trying it and loving those matte shadows like nobody's business, I decided that I wanted to test out some of IT Cosmetics' other shadows.
So I picked up the brand's other large palette, the Luxe Eyeshadow Palette.
This one contains 12 shadows, which are actually a blend of matte and shimmery shades.
It comes in sleek black faux leather covered packaging (which scores points with me for being easy to wipe clean) and includes a double-ended brush with a flat shadow end and an angled liner end.

The shadows' formula is just as delicious as the Naturally Pretty Vol. 1 Palette. The matte shadows are wonderfully buttery and smooth, and the satin and shimmer shadows are creamy and easy to blend as well. The shadows also include anti-aging ingredients like hydrolyzed collagen, green tea, acai and Vitamins A, C & E -- I doubt that they'll make a big difference in the look of your eyes but I suppose having good-for-you ingredients in your shadows is better than not having them, right?
The formula is also supposedly water-proof -- I haven't put that claim to the test, but I will say that these shadows do last very well and don't crease. Of course, I always use a primer with my shadows but I do find that the IT Cosmetics shadows hold up to the end of the day as well as any shadow I've ever used.
All of the shadows are nicely pigmented too, so I'd say that IT Cosmetics hit another home run with this palette.
I wouldn't say it's a must-have, particularly if you already have the Naturally Pretty Vol. 1 Palette. However, if you held back from buying that one because you're not a big fan of mattes, you might want to give the Luxe Eyeshadow Palette a look because the satin and shimmer shades might make it a little more wearable for you.
The palette retails for $38. You can buy it at IT Cosmetics, Beauty.com, and Ulta.
I think that this seems like a really nice palette to take while travelling. There´s matte and shimmer, nude for the day and some bolder colours for parties. ;) And the "wipe-ability" is a big point for me too. I´d want my stuff to stay nice and clean.
ReplyDeleteI think it'll be a great palette for travel too -- in fact, I'm going away for the weekend in about a month and I think this may be what winds up in my travel bag. And yeah, I want to keep my stuff clean too -- there's nothing I hate more than opening a drawer and seeing dirty makeup cases. :P
