I was a really good girl during
Sephora's recent VIB sale.
Well, by my standards anyway.
I only purchased two items -- one that shall remain a secret for the time being as it's intended for the holiday giveaway I'll be doing in a couple of weeks and one treat for me, the
bareMinerals Crystallized Full Face Collection.
I hadn't known about this kit until I happened to stumble upon it while I was browsing the
Sephora website. It looked promising so I bought it on a complete whim.
While I haven't played with it enough to do a full review, I think it's safe to say that it's a real winner so you might want to check it out for the makeup lovers on your holiday shopping list ... or for yourself if you've been extra good this year.
The Crystallized Full Face Collection contains eight pieces:
- Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 in The Magic Word
- Steam Eyecolor
- Mesmerized Liner Shadow
- Lash Domination Mascara in Intense Black
- Golden Gate Radiance All-Over Face Color
- Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Break Away
- Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Hypnotist (exclusive prism finish)
- Double-Ended Shade & Line Brush

The products all come in a nice purple tin that can definitely put to use for some type of makeup storage.

The thing that's really amazing about this kit is that all of the products are full size -- and you get all eight for $54. When you consider that a
Ready 2.0 Duo goes for $20 by itself, a
Marvelous Moxie Lipstick is $18, and a
Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss another $18, it's really a phenomenal value.
The Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 in
The Magic Word contains
Presto, a shimmery golden champagne, and
Abracadabra, a shimmery dark blue-gray.

They're both gorgeous colors and are really a striking combination. As far as I know, they're new shades too.
The Steam Eyecolor is a traditional loose shadow in a silvery white shade.

This shadow is super shimmery and makes a lovely inner corner highlight.
Mesmerized Liner Shadow is a soft black shade with slight blue undertones.

With my pale skin, I don't always like a super dark black liner so this is a really pretty alternative.
I've mentioned the
Lash Domination Mascara quite a bit recently because I'm a really big fan -- it's the best new mascara I've tried this year.

I'd been making my way through a couple of deluxe samples of this mascara, but from this kit and the upcoming
TSV on QVC, I now have two full-size tubes as back ups -- which means I can use this stuff freely without worrying about running out.
The Golden Gate Radiance All-Over Face Color is a warm peachy shade.

On my super fair skin, this is a lovely blush shade. If you have darker skin, I think it would make a pretty highlight.
The Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in
Break Away is a creamy mauve with slight brown undertones.

This is a great everyday lip shade that would work on a variety of skin tones. Instead of the usual black packaging for the
Moxie Lipsticks, this one is in silver packaging (like all of the pieces in the kit).
The Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in
Hypnotist is a new product for
BE because it features what they call "exclusive prism finish." In the tube, it's a gorgeous lavender-peach duochrome color. Applied, though, it's a peachy pink with an opalescent shine.

While this product is somewhat gimmicky -- it doesn't look the same on the lips as it does in the tube -- it's still gorgeous. Even just a dab in the center of your lips really makes a difference.
The final piece in the kit is the
double-ended shade & line brush. One end features a short dense shadow brush, while the other end is a silicone tip for applying liner.

All in all, this kit is a real winner. If you've been interested in trying BE products or have a friend or relative that's been interested, it's an ideal gift option this holiday season.
As far as I know, it's available exclusively at
Sephora.
What do you think of the
bareMinerals Crystallized Full Face Collection? Have you bought any exciting holiday kits recently?
I´m really stating to get into holiday mode with all the kits you´re presenting. :)
ReplyDeleteI really like this one since there´s almost everything you need for a complete look inside (and then there´s that awesome tin box). I only wish there was a kit for pale people. I often refrain from buying kits for that reason. There´s usually a concealer or powder or foundation that is always too dark.
I hear you about kits for us pale folks. In general, I try to stay away from kits that include foundation, concealer or face powder unless there are other products in it the collection that I just can't pass up.
DeleteThere are a lot of good holiday kits out there this year, but I'm trying to be good and just put them on my Christmas list instead of buying them for myself. I feel much less guilty about getting stuff I don't really need if they're gifts. ;)
How well does the silicone tipped brush work with gel eyeliner?
ReplyDeleteIt works really well with gel eyeliner -- I'm somewhat eye liner-challenged, and I've found that the silicone tip is easier for me to use than most brushes. Hope that helps! :)
