When I made my beauty resolutions for the year, I vowed to cut back on my eyeshadow purchases in 2013.
While I haven't stopped buying shadow all together, I have definitely bought less this year than usual so I'm proud of myself.
Unfortunately, I seem to have replaced my eyeshadow obsession with a lipstick obsession.
I swear, it feels like I've already bought 55 tubes and it's only April 30th.
Okay, I haven't really bought that many but I've been a lipstick buying kick for sure.
Just today, I popped into Walgreen's to take advantage of a sale on water and Diet Coke and walked out with five - FIVE! - new Maybelline Color Whispers and Revlon Lip Butters (they were having a BOGO-1/2 off sale... they always lure me in with those.)
But I have found some pretty fabulous new lipsticks recently.
Exhibit A - the Buxom Full Bodied Lipsticks.

I'm a big Buxom fan, so I knew immediately that I'd be trying these when I heard they were coming out. I picked one up back in March when I was in Vegas, and just this month, I bought another during Sephora's VIB sale since the Sephora in Vegas didn't have the shade that I originally wanted and I had to go with a second choice.
The two shades I chose are Hooligan and Nudist.

Hooligan is a pretty, rich mauve shade.
Nudist is a peachy nude shade.

They feel so comfortable and offer really good pigmentation so even though they're really creamy, they last a decent amount of time on the lips -- I can get a couple of hours out of them (while drinking constantly) which is pretty amazing for a lipstick that feels this good.
Both Hooligan and Nudist have a creamy finish with no glitter or frost.
Hooligan is one of those shades that instantly makes me feel super sophisticated and polished. While it's a deeper mauve shade -- that I think would work beautifully on darker skin tones -- it doesn't overwhelm my fair skin at all.
Nudist is a really wearable nude shade for me because of the peachy undertones -- and you know how much I love me some peachy shades. Darker skin tones might find it a little too light so I'd suggest swatching it at Sephora to see if it works for you.
I really can't recommend these lipsticks enough. They retail for $21 at Sephora, and come in 10 shades that range from classic red to sultry wine.
I would pick up another one in a heartbeat but none of the other shades particularly call to me. I may have to take a trip to Sephora one of these days and swatch them to see if I've overlooked any...
Have you tried the Buxom Full Bodied Lipsticks? What's your favorite shade?
