Exude Lip Creme in Nude |
Whenever I start to wonder if beauty subscription services
like Birchbox are worth the money, something like this happens.
I fall head over heels in love with a product that I receive
that month.
And that’s really why I like Birchbox and other services
like it – the possibility each month that I might find something that rocks my
world and never would have tried otherwise.
In my February Birchbox, I received a tube of Exude Lip
Crème in Nude. When I saw it in the box, I had no idea what it was. It comes in
a sleek, simple white tube that’s a little longer than a traditional lip
product. When I took the cap off, things got even stranger – instead of a
traditional solid lipstick or a tube of gloss with a wand applicator, there’s a
clear plastic applicator in the shape of a lipstick with the lip cream inside.
You dispense the product by twisting the bottom the way you would to raise a
regular lipstick.
The Exude Lip Cremes come in pretty interesting packaging. |
To be honest, I wasn’t really expecting much from the lip
crème. Just based on the way it looked, I figured it was like a typical lipgloss. But on the lips, the product has a slightly
thicker consistency and is super moisturizing. It isn’t sticky like many
glosses either, so it feels really nice on the lips. Best of all, it lasts longer than a gloss
too. It also has a yummy minty scent, so it kind of has a cooling effect.
It’s really kind of a treat to put on.
But just as important, it looks great too. It has a shiny, glossy finish that I love. The
nude shade is fairly sheer and has gold shimmer throughout it. It isn’t a pale
color, but it’s not exactly brown either - the way it looks here.
On me, it’s actually a ‘my lips but better color’ so I love it for natural
looks.

I’m pretty sure that the lip crème I received in my Birchbox
is full-size, which is pretty cool since they cost $29 each. I’m already eyeing
a couple of the other colors since I love the formula so much – Rosy Brown and
Plum are first on the list.
Have you tried one of the Exude Lip Cremes? What do you think? Isn't the packaging pretty cool?
Im getting Glam Bag and Beauty Tube and thinking of doing Birchbox, you think it is worth adding one more??
ReplyDeleteI'm actually a subscriber to all of those services (hangs head... I just love trying new things!) and I think that they can all be pretty hit or miss depending on whether you prefer makeup, skincare, haircare, etc.
DeleteMost months, my Birchbox seems to have more skincare items than anything else - and that's fine with me because I've gotten to try a lot of brands that I'd never heard of otherwise. At the end of the day, I feel like I get my $10 worth - and I'm always excited to see the box turn up in my mail. :)
